For parts, but I like the challenge of fixing it

This Fluke 8050A with batteries was sold as not working, for parts.
And yes, this was 100% true.

However, to be able to power it on I had to do a few things: this unit came from the US so it had to changed to 220VAC.
The non battery version needs a new transformer to do this, lucky for me this was the battery version.
This has the option to set it to 220V by changing the white wire.
To run the unit without batteries I did the following:
Remove the batteries, remove the LM317 (set as current source), short R29, mount a small step-down DC-DC switching LM2695 regulator, set for 4.8V. Done.
DC and Resistor measurement are ok now, still need to fix the AC part. RMS converter broken.

So, a very nice hobby/learning project
