Product Information

Keep the engine of your radio-controlled racing vehicle cooler with these cooling head gaskets from Traxxas. They are designed in order to aid the 2.5 and 2.5R engines. This TRX product has everything you need to upgrade your stock gaskets. Not only will your motor run cooler, but it'll also accelerate faster, hit a higher top-end speed, and generate more torque. The result is R/C cars and trucks better-suited to navigating challenging courses and overcoming obstacles. These gaskets are intended for fuel-based R/C engines and come packaged in a clear plastic sleeve. A Traxxas-themed cardboard label is folded over and stapled to keep the bag closed. Inside, you’ll be able to see three gasket rings: a 0.15-inch gasket, a 0.25-inch gasket, and a 0.35-inch gasket. That makes these accessories effective either as replacements or upgrades. To access them in your R/C vehicle, detach the cooling head from the motor casing. If you’re performing a simple replacement, just slide in a gasket that’s the same size as what is currently installed. Doing so will ensure that you achieve the same compression you’re used to for your particular vehicle and nitro fuel mixture. The head shim is the part you’ll use to adjust the deck height, which is another name for compression. The head shim is a thin, circular piece that goes between the cylinder-sleeve top and the head button. Increasing or decreasing the height of this shim will lower or raise the compression. Traxxas models that use the 2.5 engine are tuned for a standard fuel mixture. As a rule of thumb, the higher the nitro percentage you use, the more shims you should use to compensate for that. These engine gaskets from Traxxas don’t require any special preparation before installing them. TRX recommends just cleaning them with warm water and dish soap. It is advisable to prepare the engine so that you can achieve a precise fit and a secure seal. Use whatever engine cleaner you normally use. Focus on the cooling head and the case. This also is a good time to check on the carburetor, clutch, flywheel, shaft, exhaust, and anything that needs to be in order. These racing accessories from Traxxas are just the right size to provide a clean start and smooth acceleration. They’re suitable for both pull-start and electrical configurations. The copper construction provides greater heat dissipation, conductivity, corrosion resistance, and efficiency. You should inspect and clean these gaskets on a regular basis to ensure your vehicle’s top performance and prevent engine burnout. Gaskets should regularly be replaced as needed. Many enthusiasts replace them preventively. Always look for signs of wear and tear or for the gasket to have become more oval than circular.
