Reviews
"It's an interesting memoir because it's all about what she thinks not what she did." - David Patrick Columbia, The New York Social Diary "Morand was a citizen of the world, with a sharp eye and a neat turn of phrase." - The Tablet "This enchanting, tiny book is the closest anyone can get to a face-to-face with Coco. It's written in her voice ('that voice that gushed forth from her mouth like lava') and in her words ('those words that crackled like dried vines'), and though it's full of lies, omissions and contradictions, there's enough raw truth in it to reflect the extraordinary woman who was Chanel, even though glimpsed shard by shard in a broken mirror." - The Spectator "Paul Morand recaptures a WWII-era conversation between the author and the fashion icon." - Publisher's Weekly "Reads beautifully ... this enchanting book is the closest anyone can get to a face-to-face with Coco... written in her voice and in her words." - The Spectator "Morand was the all-round aesthete." - Nicholas Lezard, Guardian

Synopsis
The story of Coco Chanel's life, as told by her to Paul Morand. Coco Chanel invited Paul Morand to visit her in St Moritz at the end of the Second World War when he was given the opportunity to write her memoirs; his notes of their conversations were put away in a drawer and only came to light one year after Chanel's death. Through Morand's transcription of their conversations, Chanel tells us about her friendship with Misia Sert, the men in her life - Boy Capel, the Duke of Westminster, artists such as Diaghilev, her philosophy of fashion and the story behind the legendary Number 5 perfume... The memories of Chanel told in her own words provide vivid sketches and portray the strength of Coco's character, leaving us with an extraordinary insight into Chanel the woman and the woman who created Chanel., With a foreword by Karl Lagerfeld, "this enchanting, tiny book"--a series of transcriptions from interviews with the fashion icon--is the closest anyone can get to a face-to-face with Coco [Chanel]" ( The Spectator ) Coco Chanel invited Paul Morand to visit her in St. Moritz at the end of the Second World War when he was given the opportunity to write her memoirs; his notes of their conversations were put away in a drawer and only came to light one year after Chanel's death. - l***c (227)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaBook came packaged well to avoid damage, in great condition. Not sure if the seller delayed shipping or if usps didn’t update the shipping, which is highly likely. Still received and we are happy with our purchase. I had trouble looking up tracking due to the company they used but seller found usps tracking and sent that over quickly. Sellers communication was excellent. Would buy from again. Item as described.
- t***n (2908)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaI don't give negatives; However, description was not correct; No price guide was included in this book.As you will see in book pic shown; title states price guide included, no price guide inside. Communication poor, description, no communication price guide missing from this book. Shipping time was weeks before it was even shipped. Blamed the shipping on warehouse. You own & operate a business; your warehouse is not up to standards you change who you do business with. It's your responsibility.
- -***6 (133)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaItem arrived as described and adequately packaged. Ridiculously long shipping time. Seller posts incorrect tracking number and lists the item as shipped. Contacted seller for correct tracking, received a new tracking number with the warning that the number won’t be “live” until the item is shipped. Will you get your item? Yeah, probably. Count on it being delivered 2-3 weeks longer than expected.
