Reviews
"Dorothy Salisbury Davis may very well be the best mystery novelist around." -- The Miami Herald "Davis has few equals in setting up a puzzle, complete with misdirection and surprises." -- The New York Times Book Review "Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler and Josephine Tey . . . Dorothy Salisbury Davis belongs in the same company. She writes with great insight into the psychological motivations of all her characters." -- The Denver Post

Synopsis
Grand Master of crime fiction Dorothy Salisbury Davis brings back the beguiling character Major General Ransom Jarvis in this third Mrs. Norris Mystery, a prequel, which immerses the redoubtable crime-solving Scottish housekeeper in a murder investigation in the nation's capital With a new president in the White House, Major General Ransom Jarvis suspects that his retirement from the US Army is imminent. But at Washington's annual invitation-only Beaux Arts Ball, the decorated soldier becomes an unwitting pawn in a far-reaching conspiracy. It begins when Ransom meets Virginia Allan, a beautiful blonde with secrets. And there is something decidedly shady about Frenchman Leo Montaigne. As Ransom starts to uncover damning intel about DC's most powerful movers and shakers, the town is suddenly rocked by murder. Now Ransom's son, Jimmie, a freshman congressman, and his housekeeper, Mrs. Norris, are risking their necks as they conduct their own fact-finding mission in a city rife with patriots, spies, and deadly political wannabes. Old Sinners Never Die is the third novel in Dorothy Salisbury Davis's Mrs. Norris Mysteries, which also include Death of an Old Sinner ; A Gentleman Called , a finalist for the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Award; and "Mrs. Norris Observes," a short story in the collection Tales for a Stormy Night . Old Sinners Never Die is the 3rd book in the Mrs. Norris Mysteries, but you may enjoy reading the series in any order., Grand Master of crime fiction Dorothy Salisbury Davis brings back the beguiling character Major General Ransom Jarvis in this third Mrs. Norris Mystery, a prequel, which immerses the redoubtable crime-solving Scottish housekeeper in a murder investigation in the nation's capital With a new president in the White House, Major General Ransom Jarvis suspects that his retirement from the US Army is imminent. - i***y (712)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificada2 volumes of Pogo comic strips, new and in perfect condition. Price was good, but shipping cost ($30 for two books) seems like a lot for how long it took to get delivered (23 days from Illinois to Spain). Also, seller communication was not great. First two times I wrote, their response did not address question. Third response explained at length about the private courier service they use and how it should take 1-10 business days to deliver. Maybe they should consider a different courier service.
- o***l (313)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Último añoCompra verificadaThe item was described to a Tee. Very good communication. Shipping was just a little slow. The box the set of books comes in was damaged (bent corners) due to packaging. Not a deal breaker because the grand kids will not store in that box; might be if it were to be given as a present. The three books in the box arrived in prefect shape. I WOULD purchase from greatbookprices1 again in the future. ThanksConstruction Site Board Books Set, Hardcover by Rinker, Sherri Duskey; Lichte... Shipping time was a little slow, takes about 10 days to ship out and it takes a while to get through the system. But the packing was great and I'm still overall happy with my purchase.
