The Stanley Cup Collector’s Edition comes in a collectible tin case and includes the full NHL 13 game as well as Stanley Cup-themed Hockey Ultimate Team packs with five randomly-picked player items, the Gold Jumbo Hockey Ultimate Team Pack featuring an exclusive Wayne Gretzky Hockey Ultimate Team legend item, and the CCM Boost Pack for your players featuring the all-new CCM RBZ hockey stick. This installment of the successful EA Sports franchise, developed by EA Canada, features a number of big upgrades that are evident as soon as the puck hits the ice. This is the first season where EA Sports introduced True Performance skating, which is based on real-world physics and features more than 1,000 gameplay animations. That makes every goalie save and every hard body check look and feel more realistic, and also gives you more control over the performance and style of your players in every game. Electronic Arts also added its EA Sports Hockey IQ artificial intelligence system, which makes each computer-controlled player aware of every other player on the ice. GM Connected, one of the game’s most popular modes, lets you play, manage, or coach a team with and against friends in your own 30-team league. You and your friends will play a full 82-game season of hockey, and everyone is free to play how they like: in one league, you can have teams that are played manually going up against teams that are only coached by others, for example. It’s also set up for dynasty play, so you’ll be in total control of your roster across subsequent seasons for up to 25 years of in-game play for serious Xbox NHL fans who really want to test their scouting mettle. NHL Moments Live is another new mode for this installment of the game. You’ll be faced with tough challenges based on exciting performances in recent hockey history, where you can either recreate — or rewrite — those amazing achievements right at home on your Xbox 360, from hat tricks to stunning comebacks and goalie shutouts. Combine all those new improvements with the stellar gameplay Xbox 360 fans are used to, featuring real players and ratings based on the NHL’s 2011-12 season. NHL 13 also improved upon NHL 12’s rating system by rating players based on their position rather than their role on the team (such as "enforcer"), which makes selecting your lineups easier to do on a team/position level. Building on a solid game and improving it across the board with new features, NHL 13 is a perfect option for Xbox 360-owning hockey fans.
