Eliot's and Ezra Pound's criticism in terms of what she calls the 'poetics of impersonality'. She convincingly shows that Eliot's and Pound's attempts to overcome personality merely reinstated it in a new guise. And her superb and entirely original readings of the major poems of the modernist canon have earned a lasting place in criticism. Following an analysis of Eliot's relation to Bergson, Ellmann goes on to analyse Eliot's 'Tradition and the Individual Talent' and the later After Strange Gods, the early poems, The Waste Land, and Four Quartets. She then turns to Pound's Personae, particularly 'Mauberley', and the Cantos. Ellmann looks for the contradictions inherent in modernist literary ideology and deftly teases out their implications. Stylish and perceptive, this book marked the debut of a major literary critic, and it has as much resonance today as it did on first publication., This book features original readings of Pound and Eliot from a major literary critic. - 5***r (181)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaOne of the best shopping experiences that I've had on ebay: thoughtful speedy communication, ultra fast shipping with careful packaging, and great price. Item came as described. Regarding the price of the CD- as I write this another seller is asking over $200 for it. Zuber's price was $35.00. How's that? I know these people have some negative reviews, but I can tell that they strive for improvement and better customer service. Highly recommended seller. Thanks Zuber!
- s***m (290)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaA new copy of a rare out-of-print CD was packed in a box mailer and was quickly shipped. I can't remember the last time any merchant packed a CD in a box--usually they throw it in an envelope and the CD or case arrive damaged--so this seller rates the BEST score possible! The seller sent a message telling me that the CD was shipped and gave instructions in case there were any problems (there were none). Great experience...Gret Seller!!!

The carrier used by seller was great, made the delivery in the wee hours of the morning and notified me immediately. Also, the book came in water proof bag, which is greatly appreciated since it was damp outside given the early delivery. I am so pleased with seller's description of this book, very accurate. Great communication too; rate seller 10++++++EL PRINCIPE Y LA BELLA CUBANA. LOS AMORES DE DON ALFONSO By Roberto G. Fernandez (#186393647586)
