However, my purchase was not packaged safely - the item (word processor) was shipped from CA to NY in a thin bubble mailer and then shoved into my mailbox (which was not the carriers fault). The poor packaging possibly caused the damage that I inquired about, or it also could have been an oversight on the product being tested.
