Synopsis
"There's no one better to offer instruction on how to use the most essential, versatile item in your kitchen."-- Grub Street The cast-iron skillet has been a humble workhorse used for generations to crisp bacon perfectly and fry chicken; now use it to turn out tender scones, cakes, and breads. A curious home cook, Charlotte Druckman has figured out every trick for this versatile pan. Heat the skillet for a few minutes, add some butter to sizzle, and you can brown cheesy arepas, get a crunchy crust on a kimchi-topped hoecake, or blister naan right on the stovetop. Or preheat the pan in the oven and you're ready to bake no-knead pizza, the gooiest sticky buns, and even a cornflake-milk layer cake. With beautiful photographs, tips for seasoning cast iron, and info on collecting vintage pieces, this book makes cooking so much fun that your skillet will never see the cupboard. "A must-own book. Druckman's creations leap off the page, and better yet, inspire you to grab a skillet." -- San Francisco Chronicle, "There's no one better to offer instruction on how to use the most essential, versatile item in your kitchen."- Grub Street The cast-iron skillet has been ahumble workhorse used for generations to crisp bacon perfectly and fry chicken; now use it to turn out tender scones, cakes, and breads. - v***z (26)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaMy item arrived in incredible condition and in nice packaging. The book I purchased was harder to track down than others, so I was happy to see that this seller had it and at an affordable price! Moreover, although shipping wasn’t free, it was super fast and arrived days the rest of my other packages! I have zero complaints and look forward buying from this seller again!
- l***f (849)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaFirstly, let me say that I truly appreciate the type of packaging the seller used for this book. It was sturdy and firm. If more booksellers used that type of packaging, we'd have less dog-eared and frayed softcover books. Secondly, I must give the seller a round of applause for shipping the book less than 24 hours after I bought it. A lot of booksellers wait many days before shipping their books. Overall, I'm impressed with the level of professionalism and care that this seller exuberates.
