Good addition to the library with techniques that will be new to many
A good introduction to weathering railway items using what will be new techniques to many railway modellers – techniques that have previously been found in the domain of military and figure modellers.
The book also discusses various sources of materials and paints that are not specific to AK Interactive (eg: Humbrol, Tamiya, etc.) which is also in its favour.
It is slightly spoilt by English typographical and grammatical errors and has a somewhat interesting use of terminology in relation to railway/railroads (depending where the reader is located).
Weathering examples, both modelled and in the real world, are well detailed in quality images but the section on weathering steam locomotives is both minimal and not particularly grounded in fact.
Overall a good book for the novice with some tips that the more advanced modeller may find valuable.

Cheap and Cheerful Bracket with limited Load Capacity
I bought this product as a temporary measure to mount a Digital Readout Display (DRO) for a new lathe as I could not locate a supplier in Australia for the 2 piece Easson support.
I did get what I expected - a cheap and cheerful (?) unit (2 units in fact) that was easy to put together and at first glance looks OK.
However the quality of the frame components and bracket are not robust enough to support much weight if the arms are extended in any way - I certainly would not put anything approaching 10kg on the unit.
It served its purpose for me in helping determine where my DRO display would be positioned for easy reach but has been replaced with a mount I fabricated out of more substantial components (I did reuse the bolts and lock nuts from the product in my own build).
