It does things other point and shoots can't
The autofocus is super-accurate; better than some other AF lenses on my SLR's It's got a sharp fast five element lens and it takes FILTERS (!) I can shoot black and white through filters and it meters correctly. I don't know any other point and shoot that can do that.

Good cheap Mju type from the end of production
These Mju zooms whilst not as sharp or as fast as the 2.8 fixed lens (and now expensive Mjus) are actually really pretty good and they are water resistant so make a good holiday point and shoot.
