This is an absolutely fantastic product! I was running out of some old Rimadyl that I was giving our 12-1/2 year-old male German Shepherd. He was, and still is, obviously having age-related hip discomfort. When I checked current pricing for Rimadyl, I just about fell out of my chair. So, started researching other products that might provide the same, or similar, relief. I had read reviews on Duralactin on some of the pet medicine websites and all were very positive. In doing price shopping, eBay had much better prices so decided to try the 60 count bottle. I doubled the dosage, which for him is 2 tablets 2 times per day, as per the manufacturer's recommendations for the "loading period" which is for the first 4 to 6 weeks. I saw marked improvement after only one week so ordered the 180 count bottle before he ran out of the first smaller bottle. He has been on the Duralactin for 4 weeks as of today and I have seen an absolutely huge improvement in his mobility! He is not back to puppy activity, but that was not what I expected. He is getting up and down stairs better and also harassing our other male dog again and also being a bit playful with our younger female German Shepherd. Not that I'm happy with the harassment behavior, but just a sign that he is feeling better. I have also seen him run several times over the last week or so and that is something I have not seen him do for a good two or three months now. I am extremely happy with this product and the results I have seen in our geriatric dog. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an alternative to the NSAID medications you can get from your vet. Another bonus is that this is an over-the-counter, non-prescription medication so you don't have to pay for your vet visit on top of the cost for prescription meds.
