For decades, the Star Wars franchise has been one of the most popular fandoms in gaming, movies, television, and related accessories, including action figures. Depicting a character from "The Force Unleashed," this Maris Brood action figure is part of a special collection of toys released in honor of the original trilogy's 30th anniversary in 2007. This eye-catching figurine from toy manufacturer Hasbro lets you join the Star Wars community by bringing a small piece of the global phenomenon into your own home. The Maris Brood action figure may look like one of the Sith, but in her early life, she was a Padawan apprentice to Jedi Master Shaak Ti. According to her story, which unfolds throughout the video game "The Force Unleashed," Maris Brood started life as a Force-sensitive foundling taken in by the Jedi and trained on the starship Gray Pilgrim. Because she was not in the Jedi academy at Coruscant at the end of the Clone Wars, Maris was one of the few Padawans to survive the Great Jedi Purge of Order 66 led by Anakin Skywalker. After the Purge, she spent some time in hiding with renowned Jedi Master Shaak Ti on the primitive tropical planet of Felucia. The execution of Order 66 and the death of her Master at the hands of Starkiller, secret Sith apprentice to Darth Vader, eventually drove Maris Brood to the dark side. She imprisoned Bail Organa, adoptive father to the baby Princess Leia, and schemed to ransom him to Vader. She even kept a fierce bull rancor as a pet, using it as a weapon in her fight with Starkiller. Eventually she swore to renounce the dark side, but the sincerity of her declaration remained unclear to the game's end. Voiced by Adrienne Wilkinson, Maris Brood is one of the more mysterious and intriguing characters of the film and game series. Ensuring that this figurine can pull off the many Jedi acrobatic moves the films and video games show, such as flips and rolls, the Star Wars 30th Anniversary Force Unleashed Maris Brood figure has 12 points of articulation, including ball joints in the ankles, head, and arms. The figure's clothes are also highly detailed. Maris wears the same trademark sleek brown leather leggings, red and brown utility belts with pouches, black leather boots, and futuristic cropped top that the character sports in the "The Force Unleashed" video game. Her head features detailed spikes and black hair that are the signatures of her species, the Zabrak, the same species as "Phantom Menace" villain Darth Maul. The 30th Anniversary Maris Brood action figure features two accessories: her signature red lightsabers with custom tonfa handles. Her two red lightsabers are known as her trademark fighting weapons with which she achieves incredible accuracy and strength.
