The Shure PG56-LC dynamic wireless/cable professional microphone and accessories are both affordable and compact, offering a full suite of features for capturing percussion and drum audio under a variety of conditions. With a cardioid polar pattern, the microphone has enhanced pick-up at the front as well as minimized ambiance and audio on the sides. The 50 hertz to 15 kilohertz frequency response ensures that the mic will accentuate the tonal quality of percussion, such as toms and snare drums, without producing the low-frequency bass audio rumble that happens with some equipment. An integral stand mount makes it easy to mount and position the microphone right where you need it. The swivel point mount also has a quick-release latch, which is similar in style and function to bicycle quick-release latches. The Shure PG56-LC wired or wireless professional microphone has a black metallic finish and strong die-cast housing. The hardened steel grille is distinctively unobtrusive when mounted to snare drums, toms, and other percussion instruments. Shure has designed this dynamic microphone to produce the highest possible output without adding distortion to the musical sounds. A specially designed internal shock mount keeps the mic safe and reduces structure-born noise. A neodymium magnet inside the dynamic element is responsible for the exceptional tonal quality and high sound pressure levels without any of the associated low-frequency instrument noise that is common with some equipment. Use the Shure mic and accessories for close-miking percussion applications, both with and without an accessory cable, for the most flexibility in gear choices. The optional cable accessory is 15 feet long. Additional accessories available include a microphone drum mount and a replacement grille. The dynamic cartridge of Shure microphones does not require phantom power to produce exceptional recording studio sound. A special stand mount is not required for installation. The probe-style grille enables you to place the cartridge close to the sources, and the cartridge is specifically suited for amplifying snares and toms. When using the mic with tom-toms, use one microphone between each tom or between a pair of toms. Direct the microphones toward the tops of the drum heads. For snare drums, place the microphone between 1 and 3 inches above the rim of the top head of the drum, directing the mic at the drum head. Always ensure the grille is secured snugly and tightly on the microphone because vibrations could result in signal loss. Accidental hits with drum sticks could necessitate additional checks to ensure a secure installation. When using the Shure PG56 microphones around unwanted sound sources, such as loudspeakers and studio monitors, position the microphone directly behind the unwanted source. Always perform a sound check with full gear of every type prior to a performance or recording to minimize feedback.
