The Hermes box was nicely packaged in polythene and bubble wrap. So it arrived in pristine condition. I got free postage, which was good. However, one word of caution for buyers if you’re considering something from Japan - and this is not the seller’s fault - I had to pay around £70 in custom fees in addition to the cost of the scarf.
