Product Information

The June 2003 release of Knowledge Adventure's new series of eight JumpStart Advanced titles is designed to offer kids from toddler age through sixth grade level a head start in learning. Each of the comprehensive three-CD packs contain fundamental skills for the targeted age group, as well as two additional CDs with various exercises, adventures, and activities. JumpStart Advanced: Preschool, for ages two to four, features more than 45 separate activities in the areas of fundamental skills, language, and art.

Topics in Disc 1, Fundamentals, include counting, phonics, vocabulary, music, shapes, colors, patterns, and art. Kids interact with seven learning "All-Stars" (Wordsmith, Athlete, Artist, Musician, Math Whiz, People Person, and Explorer) who help tailor lessons to individual needs. Specific preschool activities include Pick-a-Pet, Magic Chalk (phonics), Bubble Pop (letters), Shape Tag (colors, shapes, spatial awareness), Picture Perfect (sorting, sizing, patterns and classification), Balloon Animals (numbers, counting), Animal Mask (art, colors), Music Maker (composition), Rhyme Time, Playroom, and Cloud Maze.

Disc 2, Language Club, features four "Listen and Learn" language buddies, Roxy (USA), Serafina (Mexico), Chloe (France), and Hiroshi (Japan), who introduce basic foreign words and phrases at three learning levels. Specific activities include Kitchen Hide-n-Seek (conversational phrases), Outdoor Adventure (animals, insects, natural elements, transportation), Puppets of the World (clothing, body parts), Listen and Learn Story Maker (vocabulary, culture), Coloring, Telephone Number Fun, and Folk Songs (two from each country). Additional activities include Fine Art (art history), Time of Day, Video Voyages (culture, vocabulary), and Make Your Own World Festival (printable activity sheets).

Disc 3, Art for Fun, includes diaries, journals, create-a-card, storybooks, and hands-on crafts. Featuring JumpStart regulars Frankie, Eleanor, CJ, and Edison, this CD allows creation of a storybook with backgrounds, stickers, themes, clothes, hairstyles, speech bubbles and props, banners, greeting cards (backgrounds, message, decorations), and a variety of crafts.

JumpStart Advanced: Preschool teaches more than 50 skills in areas of pre-reading, math, art, languages, music, and thinking skills, employing seven expert-identified learning styles. As with all the JumpStart Advanced titles, Preschool contains comprehensive on-CD manuals for all three programs, parental or caregiver advice and assistance, and printed song lyrics where appropriate.
