From 1965 to 1970 the Mint struck Kennedy Half Dollars from Clad and Silver content. This year, the Mint also only struck Kennedy Half Dollars with a D mint mark. Most 1969-D Kennedy Half Dollars are very common in circulated grades up to MS63 grade. In MS64 to MS65 they become somewhat scarce. In MS66 they are now scarce with possibly 1,000 or so examples in existence. In MS67 condition they are considered condition census coins as there are less than 50 known in this condition with none known in higher grades.
