Notes
Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the ORIGINAL version of GODZILLA. The 1954 Monster of Monsters was born out of the ashes of Japan's WW2 experience. From the horror of the atomic bomb came a horror of living flesh, one that exhaled radiation and laid waste to entire cities, an incredible force. Akira Ifukube's music for Godzilla resonates with a dark fatalism as the score reflects each side of the film's cataclysmic conflict between the strange creature and mankind. Beautifully restored, this startling entire score is here with additional bonus material as well as new specially commissioned explanatory and informative notes. The new 2014 3D version of the film premieres mid May and coincides with this CD release.
