Dedicated professionals, serious amateurs, and aspiring photographers will find the medium-format 501C SLR camera body to be a well-crafted and durable addition to their camera bag. This 1.3-pound medium-format body was introduced in 1994. It is built around a one-piece cast aluminum alloy shell. Mount it to your tripod with the 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch tripod sockets, or use the rapid mounting plate for quick transitions from tripod to handheld photography. This fine example of German photographic engineering features a built-in rapid wind crank for quick film advance. Shutter speeds range from one second to 1/500 second. There is also a "b" bulb setting for long time exposures. Use the b shutter release setting at night to capture vivid lightning displays or dramatic nightscapes. Flash synchronization is possible at every shutter speed, a real advantage when you want to creatively mix flash and ambient light in the same image. The ability to synchronize flash at any shutter speed makes this Hasselblad SLR an excellent choice for photographing weddings, special events, and nature. The 501C body lies at the center of many photographers' Hasselblad medium-format systems. Use it with a popular normal lens like the manual focus Planar F/2.8 80mm T lens. The focal length of compatible Carl Zeiss C series and CF series lenses ranges from 30mm to 500mm. Further expand the versatility of your Hasselblad system with 1.4x and 2x teleconverters. Legendary Carl Zeiss optics in each lens produce film negatives that can be turned into crisp gallery-size enlargements with excellent contrast. These quality German optics are also used with Leica 35mm cameras. Commercial photographers value the precise detail that's so important in product, industrial, and close-up imaging. Over the decades, many glamour magazine covers have featured portraits created with Hasselblads. You'll find that the Hasselblad 501 C medium format camera is extremely versatile. It works with many different models of film magazines, including the A12 and A24 backs for shooting square 6-by-6 negatives on 120 and 220 roll film. The 645 magazine creates 15 rectangular 6-by-4.5 negatives on a 120 roll and 30 exposures on a 220 roll. It is also possible to use 70mm perforated film rolls and instant Polaroid film with available specialty magazines. Shoot 70mm long rolls when you need to shoot many photos at a quick pace. This camera makes it easy to fine-tune lighting, exposure, and composition. There are also different viewfinders and focusing screens available for use with the Hasselblad 501C body. The standard collapsible focusing hood comes with a 5x magnifier. Metered and non-metered magnifying hoods and a prism viewfinder are optional accessories.
