The Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 Aspherical Lens for Nikon is a great addition to any photographers’ selection of lenses. The lens features four petals on the outside edge to protect the glass and assist the user in focusing the lens. The petals are solid and are not to be removed, as they are an integral component of the Nikon cameras’ lens. The Rokinon 8mm lens is designed for Nikon SLR cameras and is a manual focus, which is the best way to focus a fish-eye lens. Fisheye lenses are made to give rounded and curvy looks to subjects; images on the sides of the photo usually look smaller than objects in the middle. The lens is as described, works well, was clean with few if any blemishes. Regrettably, the lens hood is not the correct one. A Nikon HB-61 was included, but it does not fit an AFS 85mm f/3.5 lens which requires an HB-37 Lens Hood. I can order one if it is critical, but it was poor form to not check the lens hood after including it in the picture. As with other purchases, I marvel at the complexity of eBay’s International shipping and the time it takes. It does work though.
