New lease on life for my T60.
Changed from T2300 to T7400 on a Thinkpad T60. T7400 I purchased works flawlessly. T7400 has a slightly higher TDP,but, I didnt find any difference in fan activity or processor temperature. Had to clean of the old thermal paste and add new paste before instalation. I used MX-4 from Arctic which I purchased separately. No adjustments are necessary before or after instalation of the T7400 (none in bios, operating system or otherwise). My operating system is still 16bit, and there were no issues. The T7400 will allow me to switch to a x64 bit OS. The processor was well packaged, without any bend pins. It didnt come in an ESD bag. My system has become noticeably faster, especially web browsing with firefox. With the T2300 web browsing had become very slow.
