Quiénes somos

The original Backyard Skates shop opened in Hastings in 1989 and was focused on selling BMX, skateboards and street wear. Within a few years we became a lot more dedicated to BMX so dropped the 'Skates' to become just 'Backyard'.

During the early 1990's we started importing rider owned brands such as 2B, UGP clothing, and Homeless Bikes. At this time the distribution side of the business was growing so fast that I set up Seventies Distribution. Within a short amount of time Seventies was distributing brands such as Primo, Hoffman Bikes and we started Federal Bikes, which became one of the pioneering UK freestyle brands of the time.

Over the years the brands we work with have grown and we now stock a wide selection of high quality BMX parts and accessories. Here you can see and purchase many of the products we have in stock and ready to ship from our warehouse in Hastings.

    These are 10" rise bars, so a courier was required instead of postage because of the overall dimensions exceeding Royal Mail tracked parcel dimensions, and Parcelforce was prohibitively expensive. The packaging was excellent, and the bars were exactly as described. Overall, excellent value for money and fast turnaround with DPD. Thank you for providing a quality service.
