Item was wrapped in bubble wrap and packed in an outer bubblewrap lined pack. One corner was starting to poke through the inner layer but there was no damage. The plate itself is actual brass as you'd expect, no nasty surprises there and for a once-off purchase it seemed to be a fair price.
