John Milius co-writes and directs this cult coming-of-age drama following the lives of three young California surfers during the 1960s and '70s. Friends Matt Johnson (Jan-Michael Vincent), Jack Barlow (William Katt) and Leroy Smith (Gary Busey) share a passion for surfing, living carefree lives in Malibu until their idyll youth is cruelly interrupted by the Vietnam War.
