The Sterling Audio ST51 Condenser Wireless Consumer Microphone is a wireless, mono mic with a true-condenser large diaphragm recording system. It offers excellent transient response and detail in your audio in a simple light device that delivers high performance and true-to-life sound, whether you are capturing, music, narration, or shooting a video. The ST51’s 6-micron, gold-evaporated Mylar diaphragm is optimized to capture definition and detail for both vocal and instruments. Being mono, it is very directional as well so it does not capture any back noise unless it is loud or obvious. Thanks to the Class-A FET circuitry the ST51 also features unparalleled smoothness and warmth to your recordings. It also has a disk resonator that extends high frequencies naturally of your voice or the music. The ST51 uses phantom power (labeled as +48 V on most equipment), which sends DC voltage through microphone cables. This is a specially developed power source for condenser microphones that doesn’t require batteries and many active DI also use it because of its quality as well as electronic power and reliability. This also means you don’t have to worry again about the batteries dying at inconvenient times while shooting or singing, whether you are in the studio or out in the field. It has a large 1.25-inch all brass capsule and has been oven-baked for long-term stable operation.
