This collection of four episodes from THE SIMPSONS sports a running theme of STAR WARS references. "Dog of Death" has the family obsessed with the lottery, while Santa's Little Helper gets sick, Kent Brockman wins the lotto, and the Simpsons go into debt paying for the pup's treatment. The family takes their resentment for privation out on the dog, and he has to run away before the Simpsons learn to appreciate their pet. Then, in "Marge be not Proud," Marge puts her foot down and says "no" to a violent video game for Bart, but when he is caught shoplifting the game she administers the dreaded silent treatment.
