In 1941 the German physicist Werner Heisenberg (Daniel Craig) took his life into his own hands by making a covert trip into Copenhagen to meet his friend, the Danish physicist Niels Bohr (Stephen Rea). Real facts about why the risky jaunt took place are unclear, as is the subject matter the two men discussed. The tale has entered into modern folklore, and various theories abound as to why the two men met at this dangerous time.
