Product Information
Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, who has become more famous for the scandal that marred his career than for the wealth of wonderful comic shorts he made, was arguably the best and most popular silent comic of the early 1900s, next to Charlie Chaplin. Becoming increasingly frustrated with his contract under Mack Sennett, Arbuckle jumped ship for Paramount in late 1916, lured by the creative freedom and money that was being offered. He changed film comedy forever when he hired a young Vaudeville performer named Joseph Francis "Buster" Keaton he met in New York to star with him in his comedies. Kino has restored ten of these comedies, some of which haven't been seen since their original release, and provided new sound effects as well as new scores, composed and performed by the Alloy Orchestra. This volume contains five films: BACK STAGE (1919), GOOD NIGHT NURSE! (1918), CONEY ISLAND (1918), THE ROUGH HOUSE (1918), and THE GARAGE (1920).Product Identifiers
