The setting is Feudal Japan, where the Byakuro and evil Kabusu clan are at war. The Kabusu launch a devious plan to kidnap the infant princess of the Byakuro, who possesses unimaginable power, but are foiled by a ninja that escapes with the royal cherub and sends the baby to be raised in hiding. Skip ahead a few years, and we meet a group of young Ninja Cadets who are about to graduate, but must first pass the ultimate test to prove that they have what it takes: they must sneak into the occupied Byakuro castle and steal a secret scroll.
