Adapted from Roald Dahl's novel of the same name, Matilda is directed by Danny DeVito, who also stars in the movie as Mr. Wormwood. The main character is Mara Wilson as Matilda. She later starts school, which is under the control of a terrible principal. With cruel parents and school principal, she discovers her hidden telekinetic powers.
