Set in 1939 New Orleans, ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN tells the story of Charlie (Burt Reynolds), a likable but mangy dog who escapes from the dog pound and teams up with his old buddy, Carface Malone (Vic Tayback). But when Carface double-crosses him, Charlie ends up at the pearly gates, where he is told that he will be allowed in when a record of his good deeds is found. Thus returned to earth, Charlie becomes the protector of a little girl (Judith Barsi) as he plots to take revenge against his murderers.
