The Nintendo Game Boy Pocket Handheld is among the second generation of the popular Nintendo handheld system and the predecessor of the popular Game Boy Color. Nintendo Game Boy Pocket is a slim model release of the larger original video game console. The Game Boy Pocket uses mini cartridges with a 1 MB capacity and features the release of many classic games by Nintendo-owned franchises, including Super Mario Bros., Zelda, and Metroid. The Nintendo Game Boy Pocket features a CPU speed of 4.19 MHz and a system RAM of 8 KB. Game Boy Pocket is typically a single player console with some multiplayer options via turn-based games and a link cord peripheral. All games playable on this handheld console are in passive monochrome display with a slight upgrade in picture quality over the original Game Boy. It has a 2.6-inch screen display with 160 x 144 resolution. The Nintendo Game Boy Pocket system features longer battery life and requires fewer AAA batteries. This handheld console features an LED light that notifies players when the battery life is low and needs battery replacement.
