Rygar for the Nintendo Entertainment System lets players dive into the fantasy world of Argool, a kingdom overrun by the evil Ligar, king of the beasts. In order to defeat this formidable enemy, the people of Argool resurrect Rygar, the most powerful warrior the land has ever known. The player takes on the role of Rygar and attempts to make it through five levels, each set in a different mystical realm. The object of each level is to attain a mystical weapon. Finally, Rygar must make it to the floating castle and defeat Ligar using the weapons he collected in previous levels.
