One trick I found was to insert a needle nose pliers into the original hog rings and pull apart on the handles to expand them which worked better than using a screw driver. The seats look like brand new now. I purchased the 1999 suburban with very duct taped seats which were very uncomfortable. cut off the old seat covers, then put the new ones on. Looks like a new truck now.
