Synopsis
Bestselling author Aimie Runyan makes her contemporary women's fiction debut with this charming escape into the lavender fields of Southern France and a young woman who discovers her family's secrets and the hope for her own future., "A standout voice in women's fiction. I was captivated from the very first line." -- Kristy Woodson Harvey, New York Times Bestselling Author of The Summer of Songbirds Perhaps the secrets of her mother's past in this tiny French town hold the key to her own future. . . Food critic Tempèsta Luddington has always felt like the odd person out in her family, ever since she lost her beloved mother at the tender age of thirteen. When her workaholic father passes fifteen years later, Tempèsta is not surprised that the majority of the considerable family money will pass to her dutiful younger brother, Wal. Still, she is left a modest remembrance from her mother, and for the first time Tempèsta has a world of choices before her. Lost in grief and hoping to reconnect with her memories and her mother's past, she uses the money to buy a ramshackle manor house in Sainte-Colombe, a small village in Provence, where her mother had grown up. But she is greeted with more questions than answers. Her welcome, especially by the town's stodgy mayor, is cold at best, and she finds herself wondering if the entire experiment was a mistake. Yet she stays, stubbornly sticking it out, slowly learning that her mother's legacy was more than just a nest egg. Through her mother and the village, Tempèsta learns the value of community and friendship, the importance of self-confidence, and the power of love and trust. What's more, she sees for herself that there is magic and beauty in the everyday--even something as simple as a sprig of lavender and sage. "For readers who love Under the Tuscan Sun and Chocolat, this is your next heartfelt, delightful read." --Jennifer Moorman, bestselling author of The Baker's Man A dreamy escape into Southern France from bestselling author Aimie K. Runyan. Perfect for fans of Katherine Center, Rebecca Serle, and Sarah Jio Kate Quinn described Runyan's previous work as "a moving tale of female solidarity and courage." Stand-alone novel of approximately 100,000 words Includes discussion questions for book clubs, The lavender fields of Provence hold more than her family's secret past . . . Somewhere in the dreamy, sun-soaked rows of herbs, she just might find the answers for her future. Tempeste was only a child when her free-spirited mother died, and she has felt like an outcast in her own family ever since. Her father tried to pack away every trace of Sabine from the house, and it only made the grief worse. Now an adult and out of her father's house, Tempeste struggles to find connection to her studies, work, relationships, and even hobbies. When her father dies, Tempeste learns that he left his entire estate to her younger brother--save for a nest egg specifically left for her by her mother. She decides to leave New York behind and buys a dilapidated farmhouse in Sainte Colombe, Provence, where her mother was born and spent her girlhood. Tempeste is daunted by the condition of the house and the challenges of adapting to life in a place so different from the only home she's known, but she soon learns that her mother's legacy runs far deeper than she ever expected. A family legend, a series of gifts passed down the female line of the family, and a tragic secret all lead Tempeste to learn more about her mother's tumultuous past--and about her own future., "A standout voice in women's fiction. - _***s (6)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaWhen I'd originally placed this order, I had accidentally put in the wrong shipping address. However, the seller was more than helpful, and the CD arrived!! The packaging was wide open when it arrived, but luckily nothing was damaged. Additionally, there was nothing protective on the CD, so that open package made me feel kind of nervous. Otherwise, absolutely great! The customer service was awesome, and the product was as described.

I ordered another and had it sent elsewhere. My main issue was that it felt as if I was getting automated responses at first!! Please have humans review human inquiries!! It was painstaking explaining the situation to an A.I. who only repeats unhelpful replies. Thanks again!! Otherwise. Great price! Great seller!

On what I was not asked about this time, communicating with the seller would have required using email outside of the eBay system, because they do not accept eBay messages, the book was well packed in a purpose-designed cardboard box, the shipping was faster than I expected for the bound media rate, and the book was exactly as described and pictured.Tameshigiri - The History and Development of Japanese Sword Testing by Sesko (#282906424466)
