In the future, humanity has been driven to near extinction by the alien forces of Victim, a race of powerful warriors intent on wiping out the human race. The planet Zion is the last vestige for the former inhabitants of the planet Earth, and it is there that pilots are trained to fly the five Ingrids, humanoid fighting machines, that represent humanity's only real threat to the legions of Victim. In these episodes, another Top Candidate gets a shot at an Ingrid when a pilot goes down in battle. To decide who gets the spot, the Pilot Candidates are to be put through a test. Unfortunately, during the test Victim attacks, putting the Candidates through a test far more real than any of them could have imagined.
