The device itself is a compact, pocket-sized unit that includes a rechargeable battery that can power the device for three hours in the absence of a power source. Lastly, the RoadMate 1200 allows users to create and store personal points of interest, ensuring they can hit the road with confidence wherever they are headed.The Magellan RoadMate is one of the easiest to use GPS vehicle accessories available today. The small screen size of 3.5 inches makes it conveniently portable and pocket-sized. For an on-the-go GPS system, the Magellan RoadMate unit fits the bill perfectly. Map layouts can be changed with the manual user interface screen, including a 3D screen view of turns on one side and the street names on the other. The GPS guide will even instruct on legal U-turns, not a common option. The Magellan RoadMate will auto-complete the spelling to show you options of street names, making programming the route much faster. When you touch the POI icon on the display, it will give you the complete address information, making this one of the coolest auto accessories in electronics. The loaded software includes 1.3 million points of interest for your traveling adventures. The battery will last three hours at full charge. The Magellan RoadMate 1200 offers 2D and 3D viewing of the trip, and the auto night view option for safety. The entry level Magellan RoadMate vehicle GPS features a 3.5 inch, 262K color display, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (1100 mAh), a 512MB memory card, and an SD card slot. One touch of the POI icon will implement a search for a store or address specs, and the night vision display makes driving safer after dark.The Magellan RoadMate systems have the SmartDetour trademarked option that alerts the driver if there is a roadblock or a traffic jam in the vicinity. As the traffic conditions change, the systems have immediate updates in real-time. The user can also choose a customizable trip feature for the fastest time, the least traffic, or the shortest route.
