If you have multiple computers or are watching those electric bills closely, that is a big savings.Whether you are repairing or building a computer, the Green HDD is a great option for all. This particular 2 TB hard disk is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Mac OS. Roughly the size of your palm, it measures 5.78 inches long by 4 inches wide. It is also 1.08 inches tall. You'll find that the four-pound piece of hardware is built to be strong and long-lasting. Installing this large capacity drive can be done in a few steps.Just mount these Green drives in a spare 3.5-inch form factor hardware bay on the front of a desktop. You'll need to use four mounting screws either in the sides or bottom to hold it securely. This 2 TB drive uses SATA cables. Provide energy with a SATA power cable or a legacy ATA-4-pin Molex power connector. You can also use your SATA data cable to access the drive.A Dual Stage Actuator on the 2 TB 7200 RPM Western Digital allows for higher precision motion. This means you'll get two times the data performance and increased drive reliability. NoTouch Ramp Load technology also keeps the recording head from touching the disk media. Enjoy increased reliability and reduced head wear and tear on these drives.These drives bring plenty of performance to the table with a hefty 64 MB cache and 7200 RPM rotational speed. The 3.5-inch internal drive is specially tuned to maximize power efficiency and quiet operation. A big power draw with any high-RPM hard drive is the motor that spins the platters. Intellipower on the Western Digital Green stops the platters and parks the heads after 8 seconds of non-use. The WD20EZRX relies on its large cache to handle its spin-up time, seamlessly producing the files you want while conserving energy.
