Synopsis
This book is the first scientific publication on transition to adulthood in East Asia with most chapters utilizing a longitudinal panel dataset of Taiwanese youth from 2000 to 2018 (i.e., from age 14 to 32)., This book is the first scientific publication on transition to adulthood in East Asia with most chapters utilizing a longitudinal panel dataset of Taiwanese youth from 2000 to 2018 (i.e., from age 14 to 32). Enabled by systematic analyses on family formation process, school to work transition, marriage and family dynamics, this book portrays typical growth trajectories of contemporary youths in East Asia, where they face tremendous challenges in the process of transition to adulthood, especially in their relationships with parents as well as with the market economy and social normative expectations about their material achievement, family formation and childbearing. Findings delineate the interplay of resources and norms during their journey to adulthood, and advance theory-informed interpretations and provisions of the future experiences of youths in East Asia. Chapters from Japan, South Korea and China are added to bring most recent research in this region for readers with comparative interests. An essential reference work for researchers with an interest in East Asia and Youth Studies., Young people in East Asia are increasingly experiencing a prolonged transition to adulthood. They are spending longer in school, entering the labour market later, and getting married later still. This protracted young adulthood interacts with forces of both tradition and modernization, as social and economic changes generate profound effects on the transition from school to work, on family formation, on personal relationships, and on subjective well-being. Journey to Adulthood explores the special characteristics of young adulthood in East Asia. It uses Taiwan as illustrative example, with comparative findings from its East Asian neighbours Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. It describes the particular growth context of a millennial generation, and the challenges they face as they attempt to balance family formation, personal development and entry into a market economy. Edited by Chin-Chun Yi and Ming-Chang Tsai, this collection helps us to understand the structural configurations East Asian young adults collectively represent. Taking a cross-cultural and comparative perspective, it enables meaningful policy suggestions on family dynamics, educational strategy, and health and well-being across the globe. Dr Chin-Chun Yi and Dr Ming-Chang Tsai both work within the Institute of Sociology, Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taiwan

The seller was very responsive and answered me on a timely matter. The product itself came in its packaging and was new, not used at all. The packaging was not beat up or anything, safely delivered to my mailbox. No mix ups and zero stress with delivery. The price for the product is completely understandable for the product. I really appreciate the seller and I am very happy to have purchased through this seller. Completely trustable!

Leaving positive feedback because 1) item was packed well & arrived as described 2) seller did give partial refund when subsequent price dropped below org purchase price. 3) communication was quick However, there was a downside to this transaction -item listed as in-stock but ended up waiting nearly a month for them to get it from their distributer then ship it to me (bought June 29th, arrived around July 21). Auction said 12-15 days. Better clarity would have prevented lot of frustration

The basket is perfectly what I ordered and as listed. It came in the factory packaging and was perfect upon delivery. Thank you postal service lol. The delivery took way longer than listed though, it was listed to come in a week from purchase, but took a whole month. I had some concerns at first, but communication with the company was top notch and they were very professional and answered most of my questions satisfyingly. Just prepare for a longer wait than listed, but I got what I bought lol.
