Synopsis
Practical SQL is an approachable and fast-paced guide to SQL (Structured Query Language), the standard programming language for defining, organizing, and exploring data in relational databases. The book focuses on using SQL to find the story your data tells, with the popular open-source database PostgreSQL and the pgAdmin interface as its primary tools. You'll first cover the fundamentals of databases and the SQL language, then build skills by analyzing data from the U.S. Census and other federal and state government agencies. With exercises and real-world examples in each chapter, this book will teach even those who have never programmed before all the tools necessary to build powerful databases and access information quickly and efficiently. You'll learn how to: - Create databases and related tables using your own data - Define the right data types for your information - Aggregate, sort, and filter data to find patterns - Use basic math and advanced statistical functions - Identify errors in data and clean them up - Import and export data using delimited text files - Write queries for geographic information systems (GIS) - Create advanced queries and automate tasks Learning SQL doesn't have to be dry and complicated. Practical SQL delivers clear examples with an easy-to-follow approach to teach you the tools you need to build and manage your own databases. This book uses PostgreSQL, but the SQL syntax is applicable to many database applications, including Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL., Practical SQL is a pragmatic guide to analysing data sets using SQL, the programming language that powers the world's most popular database applications. The book focuses on finding the story that a data set tells and discovering the information in data sets, using the PostgreSQL database as its primary tool. Practical SQL is ideal for those who need a tool to find meaning in data: A marketing department staffer analysing the results of a customer survey; a student analysing a data set as part of a research project; even a journalist building a data set to investigate a government agency., A plain English, approachable guide to programming in SQL for anyone working with databases or performing data analysis.

Package was delayed ( by bad weather) and then misplaced at PO( placed in wrong box #) but I contacted the seller and they responded quickly and I got my item today. This seller went the extra mile and I would highly recommend them and will shop here again. I also want to say the price for this complete hard to find item was way below most of the other listings. Condition was good as stated, and although I've only watched the first disc it's quality is good. Thank you!!Tenko : Complete BBC Series Box Set [DVD] - DVD EQVG The Cheap Fast Free Post (#306002146201)
- 6***t (480)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaPurchasing form this company can at times be frustrating due to items never arriving, very low shipping time and the inability to track the items. But I gave them another chance and purchased many maps and books over the past few months and have received all of them. Last year, it was hit and miss. All items were in the condition as described. Packaging is minimal. The only downside is extremely slow shipping. I rate them a C+. Nothing to gloat about but eventually you will get what you wanted.
