Product Information
A rip-roaringly funny account of the ups and downs of racehorse Satan's Whiskers and his inexperienced owners, a group of friends in their mid-twenties who take pride in their communal addiction to gambling, booze and women. Satan's Whiskers takes Macker, Dave, Shipsey and Matt on a roller-coaster ride around a string of far-flung racetracks, eventually ending up at the Cheltenham Festival. Along the way they bump into a number of colourful characters, negotiate some pretty tricky hurdles and endure occasional bouts of sobriety. With characters you can't help falling in love with and dialogue that is delightfully lacking in subtlety the storyline gallops along at the pace of a top thoroughbred. Macker is looking for the perfect woman, Dave is looking for any woman, Shipsey is looking more and more like a pervert and matt's just looking to avoid castration. The lads manage to laugh their way through love, loss, limbo and lechery and refuse to grow up in a hurry.
