I'm not quite sure what I expected really - I knew this was a neon lamp so shouldn't have been surprised that the light output is only really useful for perhaps a nocturnal mammal (!) but as I say, it's purely a decorative feature so as something to safely emulate a candle on a windowsill (albeit a faint one) it fulfills that function and won't set the curtains alight! 5* ebayer
