I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER: After a post-graduation Fourth of July beer blast, four tipsy teens accidentally smash up a pedestrian with their car, and, in a panic, dispose of the almost-dead body in the ocean. Sure enough, the following summer, the reunited group is stalked by a mysterious figure clad in fisherman's garb--replete with fish hook. A putative echo of screenwriter Kevin Williamson's mega-hit "Scream," substituting that movie's inside-jokiness for genuine feelings of guilt and angst.I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER: A year after the original tragedy, Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is in college trying to piece her life back together. When her roommate, Karla (Brandy Norwood), wins a trip for four to a tropical island, everything seems to be fine. That changes during a seemingly harmless karaoke session, however, when instead of lyrics a menacing message appears on the teleprompter to return the horror to Julie's life. It's not long before the bodies start piling up, and she once again finds herself facing the wrong end of the knife--but this time, she's far from the comforts of home!I'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER: The franchise's premise moves to a small Colorado town, where four friends witness the accidental death of a friend when a Fourth of July prank goes horribly awry. They agree to keep quiet despite the reluctance of one, and a year later sees all four going their separate ways. Threatening messages from a mysterious person who knows their secret bring them back together--untill someone starts killing them off one by one.
