    Conserve energy and gain control of your thermostat even when you're away from home with the original, 1st Generation Nest Learning Thermostat in silver. You don't need a pro to install the Nest; it only takes half an hour to get the system up and running. The silver, portable design is user-friendly, and you can use your phone or tablet to control it remotely. The compatible Nest application allows you to keep up with what's going on in your home, including any problems or difficulties in your cooling or heating systems. Different modes, like an Auto-Away mode, senses when you're not at home and turns your thermostat down to help lower your energy bills. Maybe you climbed into bed without setting the thermostat for the temperature you like; however, the Nest thermostat knows where you like to keep it and sets it for you via the Auto-Schedule feature. All it takes is a few minutes to program your Nest and it's ready to use. The interactive Nest screen lets you know which settings let you save the most energy to maximize thermostat use without spending unnecessary money, which are denoted with the Leaf icon, and the Nest intelligently learns your schedule and helps you maintain the right temperature in the most efficient way. After a few days of living with you, your Nest will understand how you like the temperature in the morning, at night, and even on cool days. As the seasons change, Nest keeps up to learn a new schedule and begins to adjust itself accordingly. Essentially, you teach your Nest how to adjust your home, and it helps you learn how to conserve as much energy as possible over time. Energy bills tend to be higher in the summer, which is why Nest uses Airwave to keep your fan running without using the A/C on hot days to avoid an excessive bill. When it's time for the Nest to update, it does it automatically, and the device is compatible with most home heating and cooling systems.
