Billy Box and his friends set out on a quest to win the Beanville BMX bike race. Billy, along with his sister, Betty; their friends Bersham, Benny, Becky, Bobby; and the town bully, Bart, have only four days before the race to make plans and practice before they finally compete in the much-anticipated race. This adventure of Billy Box, The Race, highlight's Billy's problem with a broken bike, the discussions Billy has with his friends about the race, the day they decorate a fire truck, and the problems with Bart, especially on race day. Although it is a story of a group of young kids trying to win a race, it turns out to be four fun-filled days of adventures and misadventures for Billy Box and his friends. The storyline of this adventure of Billy Box is simple, humorous, and very lively. Young readers can easily relate to Billy Box's adventure and his friends as they try to win the Beanville BMX bike race.
