Synopsis
Charles Frohman is a theater business mogul with a syndicate that stages productions up and down the eastern seaboard of the United States and across the Atlantic to England and Europe at the turn of the twentieth century. A great deal of Frohman's success is due to his association and friendship with one man - the prominent actor of his time, William Hooker Gillette. Actor, playwright, director, and stage set designer, William Gillette, has thrilled the American public with his introduction of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous sleuth, Sherlock Holmes. When Gillette decides to semi retire, he throws himself into building a permanent home on the cliffs high above the Connecticut River in Haddam, Connecticut. As the project nears its completion in early March of 1917, he invites his old friend to be the first guest in his new home. Charles Frohman wastes no time packing and heads up the coast, from New York City, to spend what he hopes will be a relaxing reunion with his old collaborator. Their peaceful morning coffee is shattered when a dead man is discovered in an impossible spot! The local police, already stymied by a previous mysterious murder and robbery on the river, have little time to spend on the enigma. So it's up to William Gillette to take up the mantle of his stage persona, Sherlock Holmes. With his best friend by his side and his ever faithful Japanese servant, Ozaki, in the shadows, they risk their lives in an effort to solve the mystery with shreds of evidence., Charles Frohman is a theater business mogul with a syndicate that stages productions up and down the eastern seaboard of the United States and across the Atlantic to England and Europe at the turn of the twentieth century. This delivery was earliest date! Condition, value, quality - all as described. (My mistake was not requiring the publishing date to be 1958. This was 1977.) This IS a Viking Portable Library copy of Dante's Divine Comedy in English, translated by Laurence Binyon, but it is with a cover DIFFERENT from what was shown. The tracking number was listed as from "UPS", but should have been listed as from "USPS." Contact with this seller alleviated tracking issues. I recommend this seller! Thank you!

I purchased two books from the same seller; both were accurately advertised in product write ups. Seller responded promptly and securely packaged both books for swift arrival. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this seller.

Arrived 13 days after purchase. Digipak 3 CD came in brown paper packaging coated on the inside. Not much protection for cardboard digipack, somehow it arrived in near perfect condition. Could have used some bubble wrap /sturdy cardboard. Tracking gave no information. Messaged them & they assured me it was on it's way. Location reads Florida. They ship from all over / my package read Jamaica, NY. Got a 3 CD Deluxe Edition in GREAT CONDITION at BARGAIN PRICE ! Nervous ride/Happy ending 😀👍
