Acerca de este producto
Product Information
Today, more than ever, the state of a country's science and technology is a critical factor for economic competitiveness and long-term growth. This book traces the development of science and technology policies and initiatives in Singapore since 1965. Developed as a trading entrepot by the British, science and technology were never strongly emphasized, right up to the 1970s. However, the need to stay ahead of economic competitiveness motivated the Singapore Government to initiate its national science and technology policy from the 1980s ? moving Singapore from a low-skilled, low-technology economy to a high-skilled, high-technology one. Today, the drive for Singapore to become a hotbed for technological start-ups and R&D activities, supported by strong government funding and cutting-edge facilities, seems promising. Are the aspirations of nurturing a Silicon Valley?type culture in Singapore achievable? Are pragmatic, risk-averse Singaporeans ready for the mindset change? Can a nation of traders and service-brokers become a nation of technological innovators and entrepreneurs? This book attempts to provide the answers.

- 3***3- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaAn excellent eBay seller. Great communication. They worked with me to ensure a great experience. The book I bought was all better than described, packed very well and securely, and shipped fast. The asked amount was a very fair market value. I would highly recomment this seller, and would not hesitate to order from them again. Thank you!
- t***r (1856)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaIt was ordered 19th May and item stated it would take a few days but arrived 30th May with 48 hr Royal Mail tracking??? The postage location was in UK but came from the USA luckily it arrived in time as a present so just be mindful if need it quickly. Otherwise item as described and good price would recommend and purchase from again.
- r***d (27)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaI am not happy with the service. I placed the order on 28th May and then received notification that the item would not be dispatched until July, so I immediately cancelled the order. The seller responded to say they had no record of the order. I assumed that the cancellation request has been actioned. I have now received an email from eBay saying that the seller refuses to cancel as it is too late. How can immediate cancellation be too late. Very poor service.
