LEGO recreates the exciting and unpredictable world of one of the world’s most popular superheroes in Nintendo DS LEGO Batman: The Videogame. Take on the role of Batman as he pursues wily villains up to no good on the streets of Gotham City. Alternatively, become the Caped Crusader’s loyal sidekick, Robin, and be at the ready to defend against evil at every turn. The release date year for this interactive Warner Bros. action-packed video game is 2008, and the game is designed for either one or two players. The original Nintendo DS LEGO Batman: The Videogame is a classic, and is a popular game for fans of the Dark Knight as well as fans of LEGO toys. There are several versions of Lego Batman designed for Nintendo DS and a variety of platforms designed for playing popular games. These fun Caped Crusader games are offered for Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 as well as Xbox, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii, and Wii U consoles. Many games about popular comic book characters are based on a movie or TV show plot. In this game, Batman and Robin must face down villains who have recently escaped from Arkham Asylum, a spooky-looking psychiatric hospital. Familiar villains wreaking havoc on Gotham City include the Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and The Riddler. The game offers you the choice of playing lead villain characters alongside or against your friends. Once you choose a side, your character suits up to prepare for battle and gains access to gadgets and unique powers. Following the pattern of all games of this type, your character completes certain actions to score points and to unlock access to new levels, characters, powers, and more. LEGO Batman and Robin fight many battles of numerous levels, and each level presents its own tricky problems to resolve. This story involves mild cartoon violence as both sides attempt to outdo the other. On each level, you have a chance to find LEGO canisters containing building studs, which are used for assembling a LEGO minikit model. Canisters also contain a single red power brick and accessories. Use kit accessories to erect a Hero Trophy for display in the viewing room. If you’re playing as Batman or Robin, you get to use an array of cool Bat-gadgets during important battles. Between encounters, head back to the Batcave to plan your next move. If you play as a villain character, your missions are set up similarly to the heroes, but to achieve opposite goals. Every time you make it to another level in a version of these Batman games, you’ll receive a free play award. This mode entitles you to strategically bring any character you want into the mission to accomplish certain goals. LEGO Batman games for Nintendo are as much fun to play as other LEGO action adventure video games. The stories, imagery, and action are similar to Nintendo LEGO characters appearing in LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones, and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean video games.
