Ten science fiction movies from the Golden Age of the genre are collected in SCI-FI CLASSICS. The highlights of this package are three films by talented directors that exemplify the best in low budget filmmaking: THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE directed by Freddie Francis; THE AMAZING TRANSPARENT MAN from Edgar G. Ulmer; and THE LAST WOMAN ON EARTH, helmed by Roger Corman from the very first script by Robert Towne (who would later pen CHINATOWN). The other films in the collection do not boast the same pedigree as these three, but they do offer an excellent perspective on the genre during the 1950s and '60s. They include THE PHANTOM FROM 10,000 LEAGUES, THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE, TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE, THE PHANTOM PLANET, FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS (based on a novel by renowned Polish sci-fi writer Stanislaw Lem), THE ATOMIC BRAIN, and THE GIANT GILA MONSTER.
