An iconic music series rivaled only by AMERICAN BANDSTAND in popularity, SOUL TRAIN originally debuted in late 1971, and ran consistently for twenty-five years. As created by Don Cornelius, the program featured a veritable who's who of African American music acts, performing in the soul and r&b genres, capped off with a recurring "dance line" segment that found various members of the audience getting up to dance and thus revealing the latest hair, fashion and dance trends to the at-home viewing audience. This package is actually a compilation of memorable performances from SOUL TRAIN, staged and filmed over the years.
