It has a power dissipation of 1.10W in standby as well as in sleep mode. It has a power dissipation of 14.2W in idle mode and a power dissipation of 5.10W in read and write mode. It also consumes less idle power while still delivering high capacities. Its Advanced Format technology is an efficient media format that enables increased areal densities. It is a piece of technology that offers multiple ways to continue growing hard drive capacities. The VelociRaptor delivers high sequential read/write quality deliverance and low access times. It also delivers ultra-fast random read as well as write speed. It is an ideal product for high-end video and photo editing, workstations, low-end servers, and performance enthusiast's systems. Its NoTouch ramp load technology means that the recording head never touches the disc media. This ensures less wear to the recording head and media, and it offers better drive protection during transit. Its Pre-Emptive Wear Leveling feature ensures that applications perform a high incidence of read/write operations at the same location on the disk. Rotary Acceleration Feed Forward ensures operation and performance are optimized when the drives are used in a vibration-prone, multi-drive chassis.
